Our Story

My name is Vanessa Cabrera. I am originally from Puerto Rico. Eighteen years ago, I moved to Maryland, got my master's degree in Speech & Language Pathology and I've been working as a speech pathologist ever since. Also, until recently I was a music and movement class educator. During all this time living in this area and working with many children and families from other countries and cultures (mostly Latino families), I realized that we don't know much about each other's cultures. We tend to know our own culture and when we move out of our countries we forget to embrace the many different cultures we have all around us!  

Even though I loved working as a speech therapist and as a music and movement educator I felt something was missing. I needed to do something that could be creative, fun, and educational! 

LET'S PLAY AROUND THE WORLD

So, from my love for children, my knowledge about child development and learning styles, and my experience working with different cultures and the lack of knowledge we have from one another, came the idea to PLAY AROUND THE WORLD!
